Mount Rushmore

First KUDOs to Janice for driving the Needle Highway, lots of hairpin curves and narrow tunnels.
We started at Mount Rushmore, then on to a nice lunch at Sylvan Lake Lodge, Sylvan Lake (the lake in National Treasure 2) and then the wildlife trail. We saw snakes, (I panicked when I thought Brian was going to pick it up), Bison, deer, and prong horned deer.

Badlands

Yesterday, we drove through the Badlands, stopped at Wall Drug, and arrived in Custer SD.
Brenna and I have a lovely balcony overlooking Flintstones Park.
Pictures coming soon.

Chamberlain

After leaving St. Paul at 9:15 this morning we arrived at 5:15 in Chamberlain, South Dakota.

Luckily, for the boys there was no serenading today. Exciting stops included the Corn Palace, a Native American village and of course rest areas. Although, the conversation during Trivia involved "flaccid shuttlecocks".

Bill was the first winne r of travel bingo, although he may have cheated on the flat tire, the investigation into this allegation is ongoing.

As you look through the pictures I post you may want to play "Where's Michaela and Herber?"

More to come.

June 7, 2011

The countdown has begun:

I am busily getting all of the old musicals ready to be packed. Brian and Bill will be serenaded while we head west to the Black Hills. I bet everyone wishes they could be on board for that treat.

Starting on Sunday, look for great pictures of the 6 of us taking So. Dakota by storm.
